Hall-Perrine Cancer Center teams up with Cedar Rapids Kernels to celebrate prostate cancer survivors

Mercy Urology Clinic and Hall-Perrine Cancer Center are partnering with the Cedar Rapids Kernels to honor prostate cancer survivors and raise awareness about the disease during a special game at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Whether recently diagnosed, currently undergoing treatment, or post-treatment, men are considered survivors from the moment of diagnosis – and this event is a celebration of their strength and resilience.

According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 299,000 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed in the U.S. in 2025, and more than 35,000 men are expected to die from the disease. Prostate cancer is the second-most common cancer among American men after skin cancer. However, with early detection and advances in treatment, most men diagnosed with prostate cancer today survive the disease
