Hall-Perrine Cancer Center teams up with Cedar Rapids Kernels to celebrate prostate cancer survivors
Mercy Urology Clinic and Hall-Perrine Cancer Center are partnering with the Cedar Rapids Kernels to honor prostate cancer survivors and raise awareness about the disease during a special game at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Whether recently diagnosed, currently undergoing treatment, or post-treatment, men are considered survivors from the moment of diagnosis – and this event is a celebration of their strength and resilience.
Join the Celebration:
Fun for the Whole Family:
- Free Mercy giveaways
- Bid on bats signed by Kernels players.
- Bid on limited-edition Kernels jerseys worn by players during the game.
- Kids eat free, and families are invited to play catch on the field post-game – complete with a free baseball for participating kids.
According to the American Cancer Society, more than 333,000 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed in the U.S. in 2026, and about 36,000 men are expected to die from the disease. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among American men other than skin cancer. However, with early detection and advances in treatment, most men diagnosed with prostate cancer today survive the disease.
