Dr. Cetindag enjoys biking and watersports. He has taken two humanitarian trips to Ghana in 2013 and 2014 where he performed surgeries and taught medical personnel.

Additional Information

Since joining the Mercy General Surgery Team in 2015, Dr. Cetindag has performed groundbreaking hernia procedures for which were first in the area and in some cases, the first in the state of Iowa.  Dr. Cetindag  performed the first Robotic Preperitoneal Ventral Hernia Repair as well as the first Transversus Abdominal Release for Complex Abdominal Wall Defects in Cedar Rapids.  He also performed the first Robotic Retrorectus Hernia Repair in the state of Iowa.

Mercy’s General Surgery Clinic is a collaborative initiative between Mercy Medical Center and UI Health Care, and comprised of University of Iowa surgical faculty members.

Dr. Cetindag was very good. The only suggestion I would make is that he spend a little more time with explanations. He expressed some concern about how one incision was healing but did not elaborate. He also asked me to schedule a follow-on appointment in 4 weeks but did not say if that was typical or as a result of the condition of the one incision.
